“I have had the privilege of working with Tom, Dave and Rob for many years both at the Whistler Mountain Bike Park and during the initial start up of Gravity Logic. The Whistler Mountain Bike Park wouldn’t be the success it is today without their contributions. GL remains a key part of the WMBP team providing us with long term trail planning, design and layout. When it comes to providing development services for Bike Parks these guys are simply the best.” - Rob McSkimming, Vice President, Business Development, Whistler/Blackcomb

“Gravity Logic has been amazing from day one. They have been the designers and crew managers for the 2009 season scheduling the project in with other projects and being flexible on our timetable and budgetary constraints. Tom Pro is one of the coolest guys I’ve ever met. Rob Cocquyt is an animal on a trail build, jumping between excavator operating, keeping other operators on track, organizing the crew and tools, and then jumping back on the machine nearly every day he was here.
Sarah Leishman was a huge help in giving tons of information on coaching and club development, even though she was here to do trail layout.
Before Gravity Logic arrived, the BLMBA had a great set of trail sections that formed “Full Boar” so pretty much one trail on Boer Mtn. Now, with their layout and leadership in construction, we have roughly 12 finished trails linking to each other, plus 3 new trails partially completed, and a LOT of new zones to build connector trails, rock lines, ridge lines, steeps, flowy sections and lots of information on what can be done and where. I can’t say enough good things about their involvement.
Of the total cost of the project, their fees were incredibly reasonable considering we had 4 industry leaders throughout the season offering their particular flavor of trail build and technique, and the entire time leading the local crew each and every day for an entire build season. Expert advice and advocacy for the long term life of the trails will be reward in itself for years to come.
Again, I can’t say enough good things about them, an incredible company with years of experience in all aspects of trail/park development and sustainability.” - Kevin Derksen, Burns Lake Mountain Bike association

Date: Summer and Fall 2007 / 2008

“Stevens Pass first started working with Gravity Logic over three years ago.  We originally contacted them for a site visit and feasibility study.  This opened the door to our working relationship and started the vision of the Stevens Pass Bike Park.  In the last 3 year Gravity Logic has provided support and information in a number of areas.  From the original feasibility study, to a conceptual plan, assistance in the development of our 5 year plan, assistance in the education of our local Forest Service members, presentation to our Board of Directors on the economic feasibility of the mountain bike industry and what it could mean on our local economy, physical layout and design, documentation and written report of field work, GPS and mapping functions, and consultation of the first phase proposal to the Forest Service of the Steven Pass Bike Park.   Stevens Pass is currently working on our first phase construction plan with Gravity Logic as the initial builders working hand in hand with our local crew.

Gravity Logic has been instrumental in the development and creation of the Stevens Pass Mountain Bike Park.  Their experience and exposure has brought us credibility in our local market as well as nationally.   We look forward to working with them for many years to come as the Stevens Pass Bike Park grows in the future. “ - Joel Martinez, Operations Manager, Stevens Pass

“In May 2008 Bukovel Ski Resort decided to build a Bike Park in order to expand the existing summer operations. Our policy has always been to seek out the most qualified resources in the world while building our resort. Ecosign Mountain Resort Planers Ltd. (the Canadian company responsible for our resort master plan) recommended Gravity Logic Inc. for the job. On short notice, Gravity Logic presented a construction plan and a budget. Both were accepted and construction began shortly thereafter. The project was completed on time and under budget. We found the Gravity Logic crew to be very professional and a pleasure to work with. We are looking forward to working with Gravity Logic in 2009 as we continue to expand our Bike Park.” - Bogdan Yevchuk, Bukovel Bike Park Manager

Date: 2008 / Ongoing

“We wanted to ensure that our bike park was professionally designed and built to provide a safe and exhilarating experience for riders of all ability levels; from beginners to experts alike.  Gravity Logic certainly delivered!

Having Whistler Gravity Logic design and build our trails gave our bike park ‘instant credibility’ among our mountain biking community.  Gravity Logic went above and beyond all our expectations…Rob took the time to monitor various Mountain Bike forums and chat rooms and even responded to questions, comments and speculation about the project. This created even more of a “BUZZ”.

We are very excited about this upcoming season and we can’t wait to get started on phase 2 with Gravity Logic.” - Greg Dion, Manager, Sugarloaf Provincial Park

***Sugarloaf Bike Park was one of our most satisfying projcts to date, in large part due to the overwhelming positive feedback we received from riders through emails, in person, and on the mountain bike forums.  The following are sample of the reviews from last year***

“Just went to Sugarloaf for my first time yesterday, I all gotta say is Holy $h!TTTTT. Amazing trails.  Continue the stellar work!!!!”

“You guys did amazing work for the time period you were there!”

“Just poured my sorry a$$ through the door after a 2 day shredfest on the hill. What a time.
I rode every trail a good few times. The park is super awesome in the rain, too.”

“WoW! best 20$ I ever spent.  What a great biking weekend. The weather was perfect the trails were great, the best I have ever seen.  Most of it is a blurrrr but the trails are so well built even my first time down most runs were clean runs. Everything feels so natural, like the wood corner to the little drop compression dip to a step up if I was to look at it before riding it I might think that is nuts but when you ride it the bike goes where it need to go and you just hang on and look like a pro. It gets me excited just thinking about it.”

“When we were at Sugarloaf last weekend, I was pretty impressed with the park.  There are some very challenging DH trails there, but on the other hand, a couple of 8 and 9-year-old boys I know had a blast on the blue and green trails with their mom and dad.  Apparently it was the boys’ first taste of real mountain biking, and they were getting air and riding the berms and everything.  I think it was essenmeinstuff who said that you can use speed to make the trails as challenging as you want them to be, and that’s exactly right.  There’s something for everyone.”

“I agree. It’s super awesome to see families up there. I brought a friend who has only ridden around the sidewalks and gravel paths of Toronto for the past 3 months and he loved it. Hooked.  As for the trails, there is such a good selection and you can ride many at any speed to get whatever you want out of it. Sugardaddy is a perfect example. Ride fast and boost airs off everything or just get through and learn your way around the bike like a champ.  Either way, it’s a rite of passage for any maritimer to go check out.”

“Awesome… I just came back from my 6th weekend there and the trails are just as fun as the 1st weekend… can’t wait to see what is going to be built next year”

“Oh My. Awesome. People can talk about this all day but until you go, no justice has been served. Awesome”

“Just came back from 3 days of riding and I can’t believe we have this on the east coast… It’s a freekin’ blast”

“Big props to your trail crew!!”

“Just got back from a full days riding! WOW! Builders deserve some medals for those trails. It was hot and sunny all day and we ran all but one trail (yeah yeah we are pansies and didn’t do l’acadienne).  I have to say that Sugar Daddy (addicting speed and flow) was the group favorite with Havok as a close second. There is no end of fun to be had up there.   Swamp Donkey is really cool and just needs some more bikes to pound it into shape.  Little Weasel (can’t remember the actual name) was crazy fun and has a couple serious steep sections that could be challenging for some riders.  Supa-Sweet should not be ignored either, great trail, could be opened up a bit more at the top before Throw Hammer section to give it a similar feel but it still kicks ass as is. The jumps after the Throw Hammer are probably the biggest on the hill.  Kodiak was really good but a more technical trail. I think if time was spent to memorize it and pick the right lines it would become a favorite.   Sugar Momma and Choupette were both really fun and great warm up runs to get the blood flowing and then hit Sugar Daddy and let it all go!”

“Again… THANK YOU for blowing my mind”

”Professionalism was our first impression of Gravity Logic. Tom Pro was in Europe on another project and, on short notice, took time to change his plane ticket to do an initial assessment of our mountain.  A few months later Rob Cocquyt arrived in Sweden and, over the course of 19 days, began the process of design, construction, and supervision of our local crews. Gravity Logic was very professional and was a very good teacher for our employees. As work progressed, they continuously adjusted and adapted to our local conditions to ensure the highest quality of trails.  The design of the trails could not have been any better. Gravity Logic understood exactly what we wanted to do with the park – a bike park for the whole family.  We think that our investment in Gravity Logic is worth every penny. With their expertise we’re in the process of building a bike park that probably will be one of the best, if not the best, in Scandinavia.”  -Med vänliga hälsningar, Martin Ekman
